Meet the Founder – K. Prem Kumar
Prem Kumar, Founder and CEO of Kisan-365, the first incubated startup at IIM Sirmaur, is a student of the IIM Sirmaur MBA batch (2024–2026) and an alumnus of Ramjas College, Delhi University, and APRJC NMK.
Coming from an organic farming family, both his parents are certified agricultural professionals. His mother currently serves in the Natural Farming Department under RYSS, Government of Andhra Pradesh, where she actively promotes sustainable farming practices represented state at various events like At IIT Delhi 30th march 2026 , Bill gates Foundation , AP state programs etc at prominent program and also mother was been recognised best female natural farmer more than 3 years 2023-2026 period by Natural Farming department with felicitation and support
Prem’s vision was born from the soil he grew up in and shaped by the institutions that trained him. He completed certified training in Natural Farming and Agri-Preneurship under the PM-AJAY initiative by AP SCCFCL, Government of Andhra Pradesh. He also earned certification in entrepreneurship and brainstorming from NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore, IIM Sirmaur MDP Program and has tested his ideas at leading startup competitions hosted by IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Delhi, and XLRI Jamshedpur.
In 2024, he founded Kisan-365, the first student startup incubated at IIM Sirmaur, built with mentorship from IIM faculty and validated across top institutional platforms. His idea was selected for Udyamotsav, a national pitching event organized by the Ministry of Education, where he shared the stage with entrepreneurs from IITs and IIMs.
Kisan-365 is now jointly mentored by IIM Sirmaur and the Government of Andhra Pradesh, with guidance from senior officials and domain experts. The platform focuses on solving post-harvest challenges through tech-enabled, farmer-first solutions.
Above all, Prem is driven by a bold mission — to inspire India’s youth to return to agriculture by blending innovation with ancestral knowledge. His work aims to revive rural entrepreneurship and restore dignity to farming as a modern, sustainable livelihood.
In a moment of national pride, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman featured Prem’s journey during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra visit to Andhra Pradesh, recognizing him as a real-life example of India’s development in action — a symbol of how grassroots innovation can drive the nation’s future.
Today, Kisan-365-Mart is powered by a passionate and diverse team — including bright minds from IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Sirmaur, IITs, along with agri-business management experts, scientists, consultants, and industry professionals. Together, they are working to transform India’s agricultural economy, one solution at a time.
